Our new Laura Palmer/Anubis altar taken by Damon Stang
"Janus, come! The New Year is here, come and renew the sun."
New Years day can sometimes be rough on both the body and soul. After your New Years eve revelry, Catland invites you to join us for a chillout/hangout where we can both recover from the previous year, and open roads for the year to come.
There will be blankets and pillows, maybe some witchy movies on the screen, baked goods from the Sudekums; Sophia is bringing Soup; We’ll make Hot Tea and Cocoa; There’ll be Crystals to hold, friends to hug, and roads to open. Feel free to Potluck it and bring comfort foods/items.
We will set up a road opening altar where offerings may be made.
In the words of Pagan Daddy Gary Suto:
The Witches of Morgantown have officially declared January 1st as
“Road Opener Day”
Make your Offerings to Janus, Ganesh, Elegua, Anubis, Hecate or any God or Goddess you use for Road Openings.
Janus - meal, frankincense, wine
Ganesh - Hibiscus, Incense, fresh fruit
Elegua - red candle, candy, coconut
Anubis - dark chocolate, rum, Myrrh
Hecate - Pork, garlic, honey or Mead
Note- Start and end times are estimate. Our intent is to open up our space all day to those in need of comfort and a place to focus on a new beginning. We might start late or end late or early as the spirit (and turnout) moves us.
You’re welcome to our space free of charge, though if inclined to make an offering, please consider sourcing it from our shop.
